Getting ready to start blog again...

Hello everyone :), hope all has been well and that you started getting weekly newspapers, for clipping coupons. I'm starting this week, with tomorrows set of local papers.

The past two weeks, I've been preparing the kids for school. I'd say they are off to a great start. All of them seem to love their new teachers and classmates, couldn't ask for anything better!!!

I have posted some new deals and weekend "THINGS TO DO", on my Facebook page. You don't have to have an account to view it, just look it up on your browser- "Saving Money In South East Michigan". There you will find Coupons and links to Sites for offers, in and around our area. Hope you make the most of it, it takes me at least two hours to browse any deals I can find for you.

I've been enjoying, sharing this blog and Facebook page with all of you. It's a great honor and privilege to know there are "Money Savers", out there like me.

I haven't found anyone taking the Save Money Challenge, so it's o.k.. I just wanted to see if anyone out here had saved as much money, as I have, with my little project.

The harvest, from my garden, has been going well. I did give away a lot of produce to Family and friends, didn't have enough to Donate to Gleaners or local Food Pantries. Next year, with the hopes of expanding my garden, my family & I will donate whatever we can't can, freeze or eat. It does take time to nurture plants, but with great care, you too, can have a plentiful HARVEST. I did post some beginning pictures of the garden, on the Facebook page so you can take a sneak peek at what we started, earlier this season.

This summer, when I visited Eastern Market and a lot of the local surrounding Farmers Markets, I was in HEAVEN!!! To see what some of these talented "Growers from Michigan" were growing, was a dream come true. The produce had a wonderful taste and were a fraction of the cost you would find at the Grocers and Randazzos. So FRESH and so wonderfully YUMMY. I do post on Facebook, when the Farmers Markets run. Please find an hour or two during the week, to visit & help local grower keep their jobs. The prices may be cheap, but fresh picked- There's nothing like it in the World!!!

I find when you over buy, you don't want your money going to waste. So what I do is, take out a few Plastic baggies and stuff whatever I can in there and stick it in the Freezer. This saves my money and I can pull out Fresh Frozen Produce, at any time to cook for the family.

Just went out to the local Hardware Store, picked up a Stockpot (for an amazing sales price) and some canning jars. Now since I don't have a ton of time to can, I freeze the produce from the garden and the small stall venders (at the market) and will can, whenever I get the chance. They say you can have the canned goods for up to a year, but I know as long as the seals aren't opened or jars aren't cracked, they can stay longer.

So small tips for you, try them out. You can save money without food going bad, FREEZE- CAN- DONATE.

So to all a GREAT WEEKEND and will see you around the next blog....
